Retail Manager The purpose of this position is to act as a liaison for all retailers in the Centre, gain experience under Centre Manager and deputise for the Centre Manager. Your Role: 1. Strategies and Plans - Assist Centre Manager and staff to establish strategic direction and annual plans and budgets - Coordinate Centre Manager and staff to establish strategic direction and annual plans and budgets - Coordinate centre strategy for public relations - Provide feedback to National Marketing to ensure development of effective national marketing promotions 2. Budgeting and Financial Management - Prepare detailed business plan and annual budget for Centre - Prepare and analyse profit and loss statement on Centre performance - Review revenue and expenses, track these against budgets and take action to align actuals to budget - Work with reporting Managers to establish their annual Centre budgets 3. Retailer Management - Assist Centre Manager in managing key retailers relationships - Assist retailers to maximise their turnover - Devise initiatives to improve customer service - Drive presentation standards of the centre with retailers - Respond to retailer complaints 4. Environment Health & Safety - Assess and develop safe work practices in consultation with the Centre Risk Management Coordinator - Regular liaison with the Centre Risk Management Coordinator on matters concerning hazard identification, risk assessment and mitigation and prevention of accidents and injuries 5. Centre Operations - Align Centre marketing activities with national Marketing activities - Ensure adherence to council legislative requirements, health and safety procedures and Westfield policies and procedures. 6. Administration - Develop non standard correspondence relating to: revenue collection and outstanding debts and to address consumer issues etc - Provide regular formal communications to retailers 7. Consumer and Community Relations - Effectively manage consumer complaints and mishaps - Provide accurate and timely information to community and consumer groups - With manager, form partnerships with key external community groups 8. Team Performance - Assist with recruitment and related activities, coaching and development of Centre team members - Review staff timesheets in accordance with established guidelines. Your Experience: There are a number of position pre-requisites that are desirable for a candidate to possess: 2 to 5 years experience in a relevant position; Relevant industry experience is essential; Can communicate effectively in order to achieve results and meet deadlines; Is able to form relationships with customers, retailers and community members; Ability to negotiate effectively; Understands the business, as well as the finance involved with the business Applicants must consent to full reference and security checking prior to any offer of employment being made Applications close: 30th September 2008 Westfield is an Equal Opportunity Employer
